FASHION: WORD WIDE WARDROBE, A WISHLIST

I went into a huge panic today when I realised that Travel Supermarket's Worldwide Wardrobe competition ends tomorrow. I heard about this awesome competition about a month ago and got super excited about it only to promptly forget everything to do with it straight afterwards. So it was only from doing some sneaky blog reading at lunchtime today that I remembered, and immediately got down to some internet surfin' to find the perfect ensemble's.

The competition rules are very simple; create five outfits to wear in five different destinations enjoying various activities, with a budget of £200 per outfit (full details here). Out of the five, I've chosen to plan outfits for sightseeing in Paris, shopping in London, cocktails in New York and partying at a Full Moon Party in Thailand.

Sightseeing in Paris

Bonjour! Baguette! Ok, I'm going to admit that as I was planning this outfit, this Flight Of The Conchords song was whizzing round my head and I think it may have influenced it somewhat... It was all I could do not to stick a baguette in the picture.

Sightseeing in Paris

For this sightseeing trip, I opted for a very Parisian-themed casual and comfortable get-up. A day of walking around the city and absorbing all the amazing sights warrants some flat and comfortable, yet still suitably jaw-dropping, shoes which is why I opted for these beautiful Topshop sandals. Monochrome is a staple of sleek Parisian style so I kept the outfit chic with a maxi skirt and off shoulder top, adding some suitably retro sunnies and a black floppy hat to top it off. Then, the finishing touches; contrasting vibrant blood red nails and lips which really give it that bit of Je Ne Sais Quoi. Bon oui! Or something.

Shopping in London

Shopping in London

London is one of my all time favourite places to do a bit of shopping, and I love the edgy and grungey vibe that the whole place gives off. This outfit is comfortable enough to cope with a full-day shopping bonanza and dressed-down enough for everyday wear, but the eye-catching patterned blazer along with the rockin' cut out boots, ripped jeans and spiked jewellery add an edge to the whole ensemble that I can imagine the likes of Daisy Lowe and Kate Moss giving two hearty thumbs up to. Of course, a suitably large bag is a must - and if its colour co-ordinated with your blazer then even better! - and the trilby and sunglasses are for those occasions that rain turns to shine, and vise versa, at just a moments notice. Good old English weather, eh?

Cocktails in New York

Cocktails in New York

As soon as the words Cocktails and New York popped up on my screen, I couldn't help but think of SATC and Carrie jabbering on about Manolo Blahnik's. Ah, good times. But on to business!
Unlike the other outfits I've put together, this one is not about comfort, but about looking sophisticated and cool and chic and awesome, all rolled into one. I opted for the feather skirt and leather-look vest combo as i love the contrast in textures, and the addition of the contrasting white blazer and gorgeous clutch add sophistication to what would otherwise be a plain outfit. I am loving pastels at the moment, mint being a favourite, and I love the pop of colour from the heels and earrings and how this adds an extra dimension to the whole ensemble. And a silver spike necklace just tops it all off.

Blazer - H&M  £24.99
Top - Topshop  £38.00
Necklace - Forever21  £3.15
Skirt - Nelly  £94.95

Total - 199.12

Full Moon Party in Thailand

Full Moon Party in Thailand

Having been to a Full Moon Party on the island of Koh Phangan a couple of years ago, I know for a fact that being comfortable and cool are two essentials. Drinking out of plastic buckets, and dancing around whilst waving glow sticks in the air is the order of the... er... night so flat, sand-friendly shoes are a must whilst a small shoulder bag is handy for all your essentials. Although it may be an evening event, you can bet your bottom dollar that the partying will continue into the wee hours so have your sunnies and hat to hand to watch the sun come up. And don't forget to get in tune with that awesome bohemian vibe that's saturated throughout the whole of Thailand, with a cool boho mini dress and feathery accessories.

Dress - Denim & Supply at Jades24  £105.00
Feather Hair Clip - Asos  £18.00
Hat - Boohoo  £8.00

Gladiator Sandals - Debenhams  £18.00
Feather Necklace - Boohoo  £10.00
