FASHION: HALLOWEEN INSPIRATION

Every year around the beginning of October I get a faint gnawing sensation that I should be doing something. Something... halloweeny. As the days wear on, the clocks change and November approaches, the feeling grows until it's suddenly 30th October and I have 24 hours to create a halloween costume which bridges that ever elusive scary-sexy gap but, in it's entirety, costs no more than £10... Oh. Holy. Jesus. I'm sure we've all been there. And whilst I'm certain that there are people who pull this off with gracious aplomb, i'm sadly not one of them.

But this year I shall be a social pariah no more. I've given myself 5 whole days of prep. I've even bought a dress and special makeup. THAT'S how committed I am to avoid the usual Halloween humiliation. So if, like me, you're usually a tardy ill-prepared mess, here's a bit of Halloween inspiration to get you inspired. Before it's too late...

Missguided are having a bit of a moment in my wardrobe lately. Their current sale is huuuuge and has a tonne of gorgeous pieces so I couldn't resist picking up a few new bits and bobs for myself this weekend. God knows where I'm going to put them all, my wardrobe has exploded since moving! :(

I also created some ideas for outfits made up of pieces from their sale. You can find all of these items on the Missguided website and follow me on Polyvore if you fancy

FASHION: ARK CLOTHING STYLE

Ark Clothing

There are a few websites which I go back to time and time again when i need a wardrobe makeover, and Ark Clothing is one of them. I remember scrolling through their pages in the first years of University, and spending most of my student loan on shoes and dresses and then living off cereal for the rest of the year..... We've all been there! Haven't we...?

Ark had started to slip off my radar a bit over the past few months, but they've definitely upped their game recently with a brand spanking new website and a whole sh1t tonne of awesome summer pieces that make me wish i still had my student loan.

Here are just a few of my fave summer pieces from Ark:

FASHION: BRITISH FESTIVAL FASHION

With Glastonbury Festival kicking off a summer of music and warm cider in the sun comes the obligatory festival fashion fever. When I used to go to festivals *sob* I always had a bit of a melt-down if i didn't meticulously plan my outfits for each day beforehand. Unfortunately I'm not one of those people who can just throw on whatever the hell they feel like each morning and manage to look like they'd just strolled through Vanessa Hudgens' wardrobe, so a bit of pre-planning went far.

British Music Festival Fashion Essentials

So for all you festival goers out there, here are my top UK Music Festival Essentials, plus a little bit of festival fashion inspo from some British beauts who manage to perfect the look year after year.

FASHION: WORD WIDE WARDROBE, A WISHLIST

I went into a huge panic today when I realised that Travel Supermarket's Worldwide Wardrobe competition ends tomorrow. I heard about this awesome competition about a month ago and got super excited about it only to promptly forget everything to do with it straight afterwards. So it was only from doing some sneaky blog reading at lunchtime today that I remembered, and immediately got down to some internet surfin' to find the perfect ensemble's.

FASHION: NASTY GAL WISHLIST

Clockwise from Left:

Often, at the end of a busy day of work, there's nothing I like more than to roll onto some fashion website or other and dream about what I could buy if only I could afford everything that my shallow, materialistic self tells me I need. And today it was Nasty Gal’s turn to make me stare longingly at my purse, willing it to sprout money.

Nasty Gal have already made the transition from Winter wear to Spring brights and, consequentially, as I flicked through their new additions I found myself dreaming about the oncoming spring time and the promise of warmer weather, completely forgetting the fact that the streets of Edinburgh are right this minute covered with snow. But I'm choosing to ignore that because I think I would be a much happier person with each and every one of these pieces in my wardrobe, regardless of what the weather is doing outside. From the pure marvellousness that is the Paisley Dream Pants to the swishy and summery Two Hearts Dress, and the Fastrane Platform Boots which would instantly transform any everyday outfit into an edgy, grungey masterpiece, quite frankly, I love them all!

So, doing a complete one-eighty from my previous post... roll on spring time!
